2020 Season Cancelled :(

It is with great sadness that we send this message to all of our swimmers, parents, and fans. The YMCA who manages the Rockdale pool has elected to cancel all aquatic functions for the remainder of the 2020 season. This means that we'll be unable to swim this year. We've all put a ton of work into making this year a fantastic first for Wake, so we're all feeling pretty bummed. However, we now have a whole year to acquire the rest of the equipment we need, find a league, and finalize all of the details to kick off next year's season! We still need a logo, so if you have creative kids, please give them something to do this summer by helping us create a logo. We also have volunteer opportunities available to help us prepare for next year in areas such as fundraising, merchandising, advertising, etc. so if you or anyone you know is interested in helping Wake, we'd love the assistance. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit so all donations that could help us be successful for the 2021 season are considered charitable donations for tax purposes. I know most of you are wondering what happens with the registration fees for this year. We're going to apply all registration fees for swimmers to next year's membership. That will mean when registration costs go up next year because of costs associated with joining a swim league, you'll have the sweet savings from rolling your registrations forward. If anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns – or would like to inquire about how you can help, please feel free to send us a message or email us (you can find contact information on www.wakeaquatics.org). Again, we’re deeply saddened that we’ll not be able to get all of our swimmers in the water this year, but we’re staying optimistic that with everyone’s help in staying safe and social distancing, we’ll be able to kick COVID’s butt and be back in the pool next year. GOOOO WAKE!!!!
