Last night Jewel Mankin passed out fliers that had information on our meet schedule. She will have more tonight. We will have two Mock Meets hosted at the Rockdale pool. These are important for you as a parent to learn how meets run, and for the swimmers to get official times for their swims. The first is scheduled for June 26th - first event will start ~ 8am, please be there by 7:30am. The second will be July 10th, same times. We have registered the team with Texas Amateur Athletic Federation and intend to swim in their Summer Games. 

In order to do so, each swimmer that wishes to compete at the Regional Qualifier and the State Championships will need to register with TAAF. Registrations will be done by me. If your swimmer intends to swim at either of these events, the first step is writing a check to Wake Aquatics for the registration fee. That fee is $6 per swimmer and has to be give to us between tonight and end of practice next Tuesday. If we miss the early registration, the fee will increase to $11 until June 30th, at which point it goes to $16 until the end of July. 

I apologize that I didn't have this information out to you guys sooner, we had still been going through the approval phase of joining TAAF as a new swim team until just yesterday. Swimming at the State Championships will require the swimmer to qualify with specific time at the regionals - I don't have any of those times yet, however I highly suggest anyone serious about swimming competitively gives the Regionals a shot. The exposure for the kids in a competitive meet is quite a great experience and a lot of fun.
